I See You Sis

We look in the mirror everyday at the image before us. But what do we really see? Do we see the godly woman God created us to be or our mistakes and failures? Do we see the flaws that others are so quick to point out and label you as? We tend to seek to find our value or worth in people, things, careers, accomplishments, etc. But, our true value or worth comes from our Creator. Yet when an issue arises or we're faced with a problem, we take it to everyone but God. We get direction, advice, thoughts on the matter-sometimes good , a lot of times bad from other people who also have their own problems. When you have a problem with your car, who better to take your car to than the dealership that manufactures your car. They are aware of how your car works and what needs to be fixed and how to fix it. We should take on the same thought pattern when it comes to who we go to when we need some fixing.
God sees you sis...He is the only one who knows everything about us. Our innermost thoughts, feelings and desires. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Most of all He knows our purpose and the value we bring to the kingdom. While others see us as damaged, flawed, a broken vessel- God sees us as healed and restored... and those things that broke you, were what is making you stronger. Ready to be used by Him-a new vessel. He sees your value and your beauty behind the flaws. Kintsugi is a Japanese method of artful pottery repair using gold to fill the cracks of a broken piece. The pieces are considered more beautiful and valuable than before because of their brokenness and careful mending .Brokenness, in one form or another, inevitably enters every life – broken dishes, broken bones, broken dreams, hearts, spirits. Psalm 147:3 assures us that our Father heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Depending on how we learn to view our brokenness and healing, we can come to see ourselves as even more beautiful and stronger than we’d have been if our brokenness and mending had never occurred. Kintsugi is a beautiful physical representation of this concept. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD THY GOD, HE IT IS THAT doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV
Imagine breaking several cups. Note that none of your cups would be broken in the same way or in the same number of pieces. Just as each of us are broken vessels. Each of us are broken differently. Each of us are broken for a different purpose in the kingdom of God. Each of us, as they say "are built different". But although we're broken, God will make us into a new vessel. Jer 18: 3-4 "the clay became flawed in the potter’s hand, so he made it into another jar, as it seemed right for him to do."

God is not just in your story, HE wrote your story. HE is THE Alpha and THE OMEGA... The author and the finisher of our faith. So although we may not be able to see past our current situations, hurts, pains, disappointments, failures, HE does and for all that we've been through, He has a purpose for you, for your tests and trials.. you are valuable to the Father. He sees you as a beautiful vessel that He can pour into. Our scars should not be hidden, they are our story, our testimony. The Japanese art follows the belief that the scars of flaws are not hidden but beautified and highlighted. That's how God sees us, not as trash but as His beautified creation restored for His glory. This art also teaches us resilience and that which is restored is a symbol of fragility, strength and beauty. The art is an extension of eastern philosophy that finds beauty in imperfections. So let us not hide what we've been through but embrace what God has brought us through
